Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg sheduled to make her trip to India as the social networking gaint deepens ties in its second-largest market.”She will be coming to India in July but we are not in a position to share the details yet,” said an official from the company. Sandberg, who will be in India in the last week of June, is scheduled to meet small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Hyderabad, followed by a media round-table in the national capital next month.The organization did not reveal any points of how long Sandberg plans to stay in India or if she plans to meet members of the new BJP -headed government.
The visit by Sandberg, 44, who administers the firm’s business operations, including sales & promotion, business development, human resources and public policy, and is said to be worth more than $1 billion (Rs 6,000 crore), will help affirm India’s status as an impotant business sector for Facebook. India is the largest market for Facebook outside the US, with over 100 million users. The organization has been aggressively chasing for new parkways to increase advertising revenue and the SME sector in India, which has in excess of 25 million firms, could play a vital role. The company is looking at mobile as an important strategy to expand base.
